Ellington park is my childhood park. In the last few years it has improved a lot. Its a lovely community cafe. We like to get a coffee and sit on the terrace and just watched the birds, squirrels and the world go by! The cafe has a real community spirit with retired groups during the day, as its only open until 4pm. There is also toilets, that are unisex, ladies, just check the seat! But thats not the fault of the cafe! The friends of Ellington park & Thanet District Council have helped by improving the park and it has helped to raise money to get The terrace and bandstand renovated and the children's playground has been improved. It also has a miniature railway that runs on weekends. Plenty of events for everyone too.

I love this cafe, very dog friendly and you can take your dog inside if it's on a leash. Staff are very happy, and helpful with any dietary needs. Quite a large indoor seating area along with tables and chairs outside. The food is great, the breakfasts are well worth the money and they also have dog sausages and dog cakes. They have a great selection of cakes also with some being homemade but I've noticed you need to get in early for the homemade cakes as they sell fast.
